Winner of 4th Annual Film DC Screenwriting Competition Announced

(Washington, DC) The Office of Motion Picture and Television Development and DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities are proud to announce this year’s winner of the Fourth Annual Film DC Screenwriting Competition, One Nation, by Vsevolod Horodyskyj. Mr. Horodyskyj will travel to Los Angeles to visit the set of The West Wing and to participate in a writer’s session with the creators of the acclaimed series.

Vsevolod Horodyskyj has had a passion for movies and writing all his life. He is currently enrolled in the five-year Master’s program at American University and has written numerous scripts that have won him acclaim in the District and elsewhere. Currently, Mr. Horodyskyj is also a volunteer at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, which served as his inspiration for his script, One Nation.

One Nation takes place in the not-so-distant future United States. The government has created a system named MONARCH to protect its valuable resources. As protests grow, protagonist Jon March and others begin to unravel a conspiracy that leads to the highest echelons of the US Government.
