Film DC Video Competition Winner National Treasure 2

Raleigh Barmer, a junior at Anacostia Senior High School, won the inaugural Film DC Video Competition with his film Chuck Heard a Sound.

This short film chronicled the rise to fame of musician and DC native, Chuck Brown. In addition to writing and directing the piece, Raleigh also starred as Chuck. As a result of winning the competition, Raleigh traveled to Los Angeles to visit the set of Disney’s National Treasure: Book of Secrets.

On set, he learned from industry professionals about the various aspects of filmmaking. In this interview, Raleigh discusses his trip and the impact it has had on his plans for the future.
