“Get Smart” in the District: An interview with director Peter Segal 

Peter Segal has been one of the most successful comedic directors of the last decade. Since developing a cult status among teenagers with his hit film “Tommy Boy” in 1995, Mr. Segal was commissioned to direct Universal Studios’ hit sequel “Nutty Professor II: The Klumps.” Since then, he has taken off, directing highly successful films such as “Anger Management” and “The Longest Yard.” He previously filmed the slapstick comedy “My Fellow Americans” with Jack Lemmon in the District in 1996. Mr. Segal has returned to Washington, DC for his latest film, the adaptation of the hit TV series “Get Smart,” now starring Steve Carell (“The 40 Year-Old Virgin”) and Anne Hathaway (“The Devil Wears Prada”).
