Permit Application and Expenditure Report
Location Expenditure Report
All production companies filming in the District area are required to complete an application form and expenditure report. The expenditure data is used to determine the economic impact of film and video in the District.
Your application should be submitted to the DC film office:
- Four (4) business days prior to the first filming date, when you are requesting posting in residential areas, or
- Two (2) business days prior to the first filming date, when posting is required in commercial areas or when you are only requesting a film permit.
An application received by the DC film office after 12 pm will be processed the next business day. For example, a request received at 1 pm on January 15 will be logged as received, and will be processed on January 16.
The request form must be thoroughly completed, and all sections must be filled in. If a section does not apply to your project, indicate this by entering N/A (not applicable) in the appropriate space. Type or print legibly.
Your fax number must be entered in the appropriate space. Failure to provide this information will result in your fax request not being processed. If you do not receive a fax confirmation within 24 hours after your request was submitted, please review your request form to be sure your fax number was entered correctly in the appropriate space, and resubmit if necessary.
