All production companies filming in the District are required to complete an application form AND location expenditure report. The information obtained from these forms is used to facilitate the production process, and to estimate the aggregate economic impact of film and television production in the District.
Permit applications are processed according to the shoot date. Within one (1) business day after you submit a film permit request, we will officially acknowledge receipt of the application, and advise you immediately if there are any issues. Otherwise, after the ackowledgement email, permit requests will generally be completed no later than:
- One (1) full business day prior to the first shoot date when requesting filming only; or
- Four (2-4) full business days prior to the first shoot date work when also requesting parking.
The permit application and expenditure report form must be thoroughly completed. If a field does not apply to your project, please indicate so by entering "N/A" (not applicable) or a '0' in the appropriate space. Please print or type legibly. Failure to provide the required contact, project, or location information may result in delays.
